Château Cartier 2020 Bio
CHF 19,90 Incl. taxes
The Château Cartier seems to have only the name of a “second wine.” The choice of the term “Château” before “Cartier” is not insignificant. While its aging potential is shorter than that of Fonroque, it is reputed to be rounder and more supple and certainly has its own identity. A second with the appearance of a first.

Weather Conditions of the Vintage
The 2020 vintage is one of contrasts. The exceptionally rainy winter was followed by a hot and humid spring, creating ideal conditions for the development of downy mildew. The early flowering occurred variably depending on the terroirs, grape varieties, and weather conditions at the time. Just before summer, the rain stopped and gave way to dry and temperate weather until the approach of veraison. From that point on, heat settled in and dominated the period, with sometimes very high temperatures. The mid-August storms were necessary and allowed the vines to continue their cycle until harvest. Yields were rather low in most cases due to the sometimes irregular flowering and extremely dry conditions. Nevertheless, the early harvested grapes were well ripened and produce generous wines.

Tasting Notes
This Château Cartier 2020 is appealing with its clarity, showcasing beautiful bright red reflections. The nose reveals relief, freshness, and crispness. Subtle aromas of black cherries and wild berries invite you to taste. The palate is characterized by a smooth touch, quite suave on the attack. In the background, a denser, more confined tannic structure brings tension and verticality, resulting in a channeled energy. Beautiful length supported by a subtly dosed woody note.
Peak: 2025-2028
