Weather conditions

Very favorable conditions for this vintage. After a cold January, the temperatures in February and March were very mild, favoring early budding. Spring was cool and wet, except during the second halves of April and June. These spring fluctuations caused a slowdown in vine growth. From the first day of summer, the change was radical with a hot and dry climate very favorable to the development of the aromatic and phenolic potential of the grapes. This was followed by two heatwave episodes at the end of June and the end of July, and a rainy period at the beginning of August, which we accompanied with biodynamic preparations and herbal teas. These actions helped avoid excessive water stress. Early September remained summery. We chose to harvest our Merlots early to adapt to the particularly rapid maturation pace and maintain balances compatible with the refinement of our wines. The result is a rich and harmonious beverage with a silky texture. Its classicism makes it one of our great vintages.
