Weather Conditions of the Vintage
Very favorable conditions for this vintage. After a cold January, the temperatures in February and March were very mild, promoting early budding. The spring was cool and humid, except during the second halves of April and June. These spring fluctuations caused a slowdown in vine growth. From the first day of summer, the change was radical with hot and dry weather very favorable to the development of the aromatic and phenolic potential of the grapes. This was followed by two heatwaves at the end of June and the end of July, and a rainy period at the beginning of August, which we accompanied with biodynamic preparations and herbal teas. These measures helped to prevent the establishment of excessive water stress. Early September remained summery. We chose to harvest our Merlot grapes early to adapt to the particularly rapid ripening pace and maintain balances compatible with the refinement of our wines. The result is a rich and harmonious beverage with a silky texture. Its classicism makes it one of our great vintages.
