The precious honey from the Manuka bush (Leptospermum scoparium), related to the Australian tea tree, is not only used as a luxury food in New Zealand, but also traditionally used outdoors and indoors. In recent years, this high-quality natural product has also gained recognition in Europe through reporting and research in the media, notably at TU Dresden.

It was found that the so-called methylglyoxal (MGO), which is contained in this organic Manuka honey with a value of at least 400 mg / kg, is mainly responsible for the unique property of special Manuka honey.
